Father's and sons... and daughters...

Early in my days as a child, I spent the evenings with my father pouring over blueprints and therefore was able to read blueprints from a very early age. As a young adult, I went to Long Beach State University to study engineering and wound up sharing an architectural design business with a friend. We designed homes and businesses and were on the cutting edge of the new concept of modular housing. One of our clients was designing a building mold to produce pre-cast concrete modules. The modules could be configured and stacked to create an apartment complex. The mold was heated and vibrated to cure a module every 4 hours. This then was going to be part of a factory to be built for a firm in the Middle East. The prototype was being built in Hawaii and this was what led me and my wife to liv e there for nearly a decade where we raised our kids.

While there, my sons followed in my path and one now builds for himself while the other is a professional builder in Washington state. My one daughter has her own table saw and is the go-to-gal for her family's home improvements; while the other loves design and architecture. Guess it just gets in your DNA. We also migrated back to the mainland and Washington state and there designed and built our home and homes for friends. For a while we went on a "non-profit tour" where we traveled across the states leading volunteers and building the physical plants for churches and kids camps.

Also now, having the travel lust in our DNA, we traveled to other states building steel-framed churches in Texas, New Jersey and Maryland. While in Maryland we family-owned and operated two small building and design corporations: one focused on commercial building and maintenance; and the other, home building, remodeling and improvements. I also had the privilege to work for two larger corporations where I project managed commercial build-outs in Washington DC an Virginia.

With family growing on the west coast, we moved back to Hillsboro, Oregon... to grow with them. Now here and once again enjoying the beautiful Pacific Northwest, I am engaged in Commercial Project Management, Building Maintenance and I volunteer for Habitat for Humanity building residences for worthy individuals.
